You will pay up to a $25 activation fee when you start your Prepaid Verizon cell phone. I started mine at a Verizon store and purchased a $30 card at the same time. The individual that activated it for me did not charge me the fee. I did spend $79.95 on the cellphone.

The Core Plan is 99 cents per day access and calls are 10 cents per minute. Unlimited calls to other Verizon Wireless mobile phones are free. I made use of theVerizon Core program for several months, if most of your calls are generally to other Verizon Wireless users this can be a great plan.
The Plus Plan is $1.99 per day access and charges 5 cents per minute. This plan also includes Unlimited night and weekend minutes (starting at 9 p.m.) and Unlimited calls to other Verizon Wireless phones all day.
The Verizon Prepaid Unlimited Talk Plan offers Unlimited minutes and one-cent text messages for $3.99 per day.
